Homes on the Olympic Athletes' Village site now available

Social tenants now have the opportunity live in the capital's newest neighbourhood - East Village London E20.

The Mayor has secured some of the new social rented homes in the East Village for social tenants from across London. A range of two, three and four bedroomed homes are being advertised through Housing Moves between now and the end of July 2013

Since the final closing ceremony the athletes' village in Stratford has begun to be transformed into a new neighbourhood. Residents will enjoy
- access to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the largest park in Europe
- a state of the art school (Chobham Academy) for up to 1,800 pupils, taking them from nursery to sixth form
- a new health centre with services including GPs, dentists and wellbeing support
- world class sports facilities

Priority for these homes will be given to households who have more or fewer bedrooms than they currently need. Priority will also be given to households who are in employment or provide care to relatives or friends (evidence must be provided).

If you are interested in bidding for these properties then please view 'see all properties' link on the left hand side of the homepage. To take a look around East Village, click here.

Many of the homes in East Village have been designed to be wheelchair accessible or easily adaptable. If you are interested in these properties please contact housingmobility@london.gov.uk to find out more about these particular properties. Home ownership options will be available through the Mayor's First Steps programme.

To bid for these properties applicants must be registered on the Housing Moves scheme. However, if you live in Newham and other East London boroughs you need to be on your local authority housing register and have access to bid for homes.
